Chalkboard Origins

  • 6th Apr 2018

This is the photo that kinda started our whole business. It was printed on the flyer which is on the blackboard in the next pic.

  • 17th May 2018

Before we even had a website we made meals for members our our friends gym. We used to drop them off when we went to workout.

  • 18th May 2018

It was so exciting to receive our first delivery of boxes! I remember that ordering that pallet was such a nerve wracking moment.

Caravan Renovation

  • 6th Nov 2018

For the first few months we rented a kitchen at the Morley Baptist Church. Then we purchased this old caravan $10,000.

  • 10th Nov 2018

It was a mobile office kinda thing. It had a little kitchenette at one end and desks at the other.

  • 28th Nov 2018

We started by gutting the interior. Ripping the carpet off the walls was fun. Not! Afterwards we lined the walls with bathroom shower panelling.

  • 6th Mar 2019

Next we picked up a whole caravan full of stainless steel benches, shelves and sink. This was the start of our stainless steel addiction 😅

  • 9th Mar 2019

Then we had commercial vinyl flooring installed so that the caravan would comply with council regulations.

Food Truck Era

  • 6th Nov 2018

When we first moved in we thought it was SOO big! I mean look at all that bench space. We had a 4-burner stove and 3 ovens.

  • 10th Nov 2018

With all those ovens running it was literally like an oven inside. It would routinely be nearly 50° in summer. We did had a big evap aircon at one end which did take the edge off.

Always cry over spilt wine! For many years it was just us two and Tyler. He started helping us a couple hours a week all the way up to working 40-50 hours a week with us. We love you Tyler 💚

Natalie's Cakes

  • 9th Mar 2019

Happy Birthday Natalie 🎂 We all chipped in and got Natalie a beautiful pink kitchenAid mixer.

  • 6th Apr 2019

How's that wine pour hahaha definitely one standard drink 😉

  • 6th Jul 2019

It's no exaggeration when I say Natalie lives for food and cooking. She will leap at any opportunity to bake a cake.

  • 25th Dec 2019

She is always experimenting with new cuisines, ideas and methods.

  • 12th Oct 2019

Seriously her whole instagram feed is recipe videos (and clothing companies haha)

  • 12th Apr 2020

We both feel so lucky that we get to do something we're so passionate about everyday. It is such a blessing!

Big Brick Box

  • 30th Sep 2020

Eeek! What a day! It's just nuts that we cooked tens of thousands of meals in a caravan and brought a property with it!

  • It was exactly what we were searching for. 200 square meters of blank canvas.

  • It had a high roof so we were able to build a big mezzanine above the kitchen for storage.

(Ware)house Warming Party

  • 7th Nov 2020

Of course we had to have a party! We hosted a kids sport carnival themed party. It was so much fun.

  • Tunnel ball. It's hilarious how bad we were at these kids games.

  • Three-legged race.

  • Paper aeroplane longest flight competition. This one was great!

  • Dance battle. I love this photo so much. How's the mid-worm.

Natalie Burns

  • 15th Apr 2021

This was a really terrible day. Natalie was draining sweet potatoes and the pot slipped. Filling her boot with boiling water. I had to black out the burn here cause it was really bad!

  • 19th Apr 2021

She required skin graft surgery. She had such a positive experience at Fiona Stanley hospital. We live in such a wonderful country. Thank you Doctors and Nurses!

  • 27th Apr 2021

Like I keep reiterating... You cannot keep Natalie out of the kitchen. Literally as soon as she was allowed to stand for more than a few minutes she was back at it.

Kitchen Build

  • 8th Jul 2021

After a really stressful and time consuming back and forward with the council we began our kitchen build! Here Natalie is admiring our new mezzanine floor structure.

  • 24th Jul 2021

Next we installed the walls and ceilings. We used coolroom panel, which is such a great material as once it's up, its finished. No bogging, no sanding, no painting.

  • 6th Aug 2021

I cut a big hole in the concrete slab to installed a huge stainless steel floor drain.

  • 27th Aug 2021

As per council requirements we needed to install a huge grease trap and new septic system. Luckily Dad is pretty handy on a bobcat and help rip all the bitumen up.

  • 20th Sep 2021

The grease trap was HUUUGE. 1600 litres I think.

  • 22th Sep 2021

Here you can see it completely buried (at the back), along with the septic tanks. Damn that plumbing bill was expensive!

  • 22th Oct 2021

I winched the rangehoods up into the ceiling. This was a fun problem to solve.

  • 16th Nov 2021

Here we are admiring our new polyurethane floor. The old concrete was so chipped and stained. So it made such a huge difference.

  • 28th Jan 2022

Slowing getting there. Man it was such a huge job building this place. I am so proud of it! My biggest accomplishment.

  • 1st Feb 2022

We had the whole car park bitumen resurfaced as so much of it was removed to install the septic tanks.

  • 5th Mar 2022

Don't worry Henry the site foreman was there all along the way making sure it was all up to spec 💞

Business as usual

  • 23rd Apr 2022

Our grand opening party! It was so fun to give everyone the tour.

  • 25th Apr 2022

The very first pantry stock up! So satisfying!

  • 6th Jul 2022

Thankfully our transition from the caravan was smooth and we just kept on trucking. Here we are labelling a few hundred meals.

  • 21st Apr 2023

Fit Foods 5th birthday. What an achievement to make it this far!

Office and Bathroom Reno

  • 19th Nov 2022

The crappy little bathroom and office just wasn't cutting it anymore so we decided to knock it down and start from scratch.

  • 17th Jan 2023

The bathroom turned out so lovely. The green tiles are just gorgeous!

  • 19th Apr 2023

Here I am gluing the plywood benchtops together. All of the buckets are filled with water.

  • 18th May 2023

Really proud of how the office turned out. The flooring is click-lock, the cabinets are ikea, and benchtops and shelves are by yours truly.

Rebrand

  • 6th Apr 2023

Next up on the chopping block was rebranding and new getting new labels for the meals.

  • 28th May 2024

Of course we needed a big sign for our big brick box. So I had this laser cut out, then welded on some steel pins for mounting.

  • 4th Jul 2024

Here's the measurements for the pins so I could drill the holes in the wall correctly. It worked perfectly!

  • 5th Jul 2024

Borrowed a scissor lift from a mate and drilled then glued the letters into place.

  • 5th Jul 2024

So bloody happy with how it turned out!

Fresh not Frozen

  • 8th Feb 2024

Meet Bella, our new chef. She is amazing and her and Natalie and like two peas in a pod. Bella helped us transition from frozen to fresh meal production and delivery.

  • 11th Aug 2023

It's moments like this when Natalie and I look at each other and think WTF are we doing... We just brought a literal tonne of ice packs hahaha

  • 23rd May 2024

We brought these Roly-Poly's (expandable roller conveyors) and changed how to pack the orders. So much more efficient! We over doubled our pack rate.

Growing (and outgrowing)

  • 25th May 2024

We started our lil Saturday morning pop up shop at the kitchen. It has been wonderful meeting so many of our lovely customers. We both thoroughly enjoy running the shop!

  • 24th Jul 2024

Another WTF moment... Receiving delivery of our first pallet of 18,600 meal containers. We now import these by the container load, directly from the manufacturer in Europe.

  • 29th Aug 2024

As we continued to grow we realised that we will need more grill space and another oven. So we ordered another rangehood and I cut a huge hole in the kitchen ceiling.

  • 30th Aug 2024

Now we have a 9 meter long rangehood 😎 with a 6-burner stove, 3.9 meters of grill, 2x bratt pans and 2x 11-tray combi ovens. Natalie is OVER THE MOON!

  • 27th Sep 2024

We bought a refrigerated sea container as we are running out of space inside our coolroom!
